In the intricate tapestry of Greek mythology, Mount Othrys was home to the kingdom of the Myrmidons, dating back to the time of the Homeric epics. Achilles, son of Peleus and Thetis, led these Myrmidon warriors, who played a pivotal role in the storied Trojan War.
An Aromatic History
With a history spanning over half a century, the inhabitants of this region have been cultivating aromatic plants since the early 1960s, beginning with mountain tea, which was initially planted in areas where these plants naturally thrived. Over time, this endeavor became the primary occupation for the locals, and they gradually expanded their cultivation to include a diverse array of aromatic plant species.
Farmer & Visionary
The process of harvesting and drying these aromatic treasures remains deeply rooted in tradition and entirely natural. Each year, in the months of May and June, the products are carefully handpicked in the traditional manner. They are then meticulously cleaned and dried under the gentle embrace of shade and ambient temperatures, preserving all their exquisite scent and flavor profiles.
