A New Generation.
Tournike “Toko” Shekiladze is the owner of Gezruli Tea Estate located in the mountainous region near the town of Chiatura in Imereti province. Toko joined GOTPA in 2016 and is its youngest member, but his knowledge, entrepreneurial spirit, curiosity and determination have earned the respect of the Georgian tea community.
Unique Wild White Tea.
Gezruli Tea Estate is remotely located from civilization and, like Anditri Tea Estate is also surrounded by forest. Toko began working closely with Shota Bitadze to develop and perfect a new tea technology, which has resulted in a rare and unique Wild White Tea.
This white tea, which we market as our Georgian Forest White, is truly unique and distinguishable from other white teas produced in other parts of the world. The proprietary production process developed by Toko and Shota preserves 90-95% of their chlorophyll, which allows the leaves to maintain their green color and more nutrients than typical white teas. Toko specializes in making wild teas from the forests that are adjacent to his plantation. He also produces traditional plantation teas, as well.
