Introducing Wild Harvest Tisanes from Greece!

These wild-harvested herbs grow in their natural habitats on picturesque Greek mountainsides. They rely entirely on nature for their needs, including water, sunlight, and shade. Due to these natural challenges, they exert extra effort to grow, resulting in higher nutritional content. Our hand-picked botanicals are free from herbicides, pesticides, and other harmful chemicals.

Reviews: What Our Customers Are Saying

Miran's Emerald Dream is quite possibly the best tisane I have ever had. The color when steeped is absolutely stunning and the flavor is fantastic! If you are debating buying this one–do it! You will not regret it!

Excellent! The Chai House Masala Chai Bundle with Kanchanjangha Noir Bundle is the closest thing I’ve had to real chai since being in India years ago!

Tastes amazing, and makes my kitchen small like the spice aisle at an Indian Market – such a great ritual to make and sip.

Anna

Chai House offers amazing, unique teas. Orthodox Roasted Green is my current favorite. The flavor profile is toasty, earthy/woody, and reminds me of some of my favorite Scotch whisky.

Jim

Green Bay Golden Milk is deliciously creamy and a unique flavor! Tried it with almond milk and it worked well.

Rachel

The tea leaves are gorgeous (I steep in a French press to give them room to unfurl) and the tea itself is very red, coppery, bright, while still being a substantial black tea. The Orthodox cathedral on the orthodox-rolled tea packaging is a fun and humorous touch.

Tea Time is Your Time

A simple cup of tea.

It’s your retreat from the intrusions of the world. It’s your time for calmness, for stillness, for contemplation, for reflection. It’s the vehicle taking you on a journey to experience the intimately familiar and the alluringly exotic. It’s your time to be relaxed, but also recharged.

It’s your time for you!

Our Mission

The mission of Chai House is to spread the joy of tea while creating good for people and good for the planet.

We will turn our personal enjoyment of tea and travel into a business model that uses tea and tea-related products as a force for good in the world, encouraging everyone to take time, brew tea and enjoy the company of others or some quiet time alone

What is Chai?

The word “chai” simply means “tea”.

However, it has become commonly misused to refer to Masala Chai, the Indian tea beverage made by boiling black tea in milk and water with a mixture of aromatic herbs and spices.

At Chai House, we are on a mission to save U.S. consumers from the travesty that is the sugary, pre-packaged, mis-named “chai” products found in U.S. grocery stores and coffee shops with our authentic hand-crafted Signature Spice Blends, like Madison Masala #17 and Green Bay Golden Milk

Chai House: Where Good Starts with Tea

Good for you. . .

While one of our founders is a nurse, neither of them is a doctor, nor do they play one on TV (or the Internet), however recent research suggests that tea and tea flavonoids may play important roles in various areas of health.

Every day, new findings from the international scientific community lend credibility to tea’s healthy properties

Good for the planet. . .

Tea is an all-natural and environmentally sound product from a renewable source. Chai House only selects tea partners who are ecologically responsible and practice conservation of their local water sources, soil and ecosystems, and are committed to reducing their impact on the natural environment

Good for people. . .

Chai House and its tea partners help to improve the lives of those with whom we do business and those around us by

  • supporting sustainable ecological growing practices positively impact the health of family tea farmers and their local communities;
  • Improving working conditions for the tea farmers, as well as providing assistance and opportunities for their families and neighbors;
  • Aiding long-term economic growth of tea farm communities without negatively impacting their social, environmental, and cultural aspects;
  • In addition, Chai House supports local organizations and charities in Dane County (Wisconsin) and its home city of Sun Prairie, Wisconsin.

"The Chai House mission may allow us to help those around the world, but a focus for us is also helping our neighbors in and around Sun Prairie"

Chai House Named Exclusive U.S. Importer of Georgian Tea

Chai House has partnered with Giorgi Bitadze and his father, Shota, (founder of GOTPA – the Georgian Organic Tea Producers Association) and Bitadze Ltd. in Tbilisi, Georgia as the exclusive U.S. importer of their Georgian Tea 1847 brand.

You probably didn’t even know they grew tea in Georgia, let alone world-class tea. But they do. Black tea, green tea, white tea, herbal tea, even their rare wild teas in our Wild Harvest Collection™

The Bad News: Georgia was once the fourth leading producer of tea in the world, but the collapse of the Soviet Union decimated its tea industry and the lives of countless Georgian family tea farmers.

The Good News: People like Giorgi and Shota are leading the effort to restore Georgian family tea farms and the Georgian tea industry to their former glory.

And Chai House is bringing these world-class, hand-picked Georgian teas to you!

Chai House Nepali Teas Combat Poverty

Our high-mountain, organic Nepali teas are hand-picked in the remote Panchthar District of eastern Nepal, not far from the Darjeeling tea region in neighboring India. Over 100 family tea farms pooled their small plots of land to form a cooperative, which became the first certified organic tea estate in Nepal.

This cooperative is dedicated to eliminating poverty among its member farm families in this remote village by providing free housing,  free education and cows for additional income

Tea Tales of Terroir

The essence of a tea reflects its terroir. Terroir is the specific natural environment in which a particular tea is produced, including factors such as the soil, topography, and climate. Just like fine wines, it also refers to the characteristic taste and flavor imparted to a tea by that environment in which it is produced.

The French phrase goût de terroir is literally translated as “taste of the soil”. The importance of terroir is the reason each Chai House tea comes with details of its specific origin
